Every year, YLC seeks out leaders for its Board of Directors -- the young professionals who make up the backbone of Young Leadership Council. There is no better way to leave your mark on the Crescent City than by joining this team of civic-minded young leaders!

Nominations are now open for YLC's 2018 Board of Directors. The deadline is Friday, August 11 at midnight.

Joining the Board

Passionate, committed, and proud to call New Orleans home, our Board of Directors serve to create a legacy of young leadership that will last for years to come.

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

  • Are active, dues-paying YLC Members
  • Have demonstrated extensive civic and community engagement
  • Have served YLC in a previous capacity as a board member, project leader, committee member, or volunteer
  • Have been actively involved with YLC in the last 12 months
  • Are between 21 and 42 years old

All applicants to the Board of Directors are encouraged to review YLC’s Organization Documents, including its Articles of Incorporation, Audited Financial Statement, Bylaws, Board of Directors Statement of Commitment, and more. These documents will help you familiarize yourself with YLC, its mission, and strategic plan.

Applicants are encouraged to attend YLC’s Board Information Session on Wednesday, July 19 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the YLC office, located at 1840 Euterpe St. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the nomination process, how to prepare, and the fantastic leadership opportunities available to members of the board.
