In the late 80’s, YLC board members got together to discuss a way that the YLC could make a difference in the lives of kids who were growing up in challenging circumstances. Board member John Sibal led the charge to create a new project that would provide kids in low-income neighborhoods with a positive activity to do when they weren’t at school, help them develop leadership skills and help them form positive relationships with caring adults. A lifelong sports fan, John determined that the activity would be basketball.
Join us for the October Leadership Luncheon on Wednesday, October 24 at Palace Cafe (605 Canal Street) from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. as we hear from Mr. Sibal and how his participation in the YLC’s longest running project led to his current roles as the Chairman of the New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation and member of the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission.
Lunch will be a three-course meal inclusive of tax and gratuity priced at $35.00. The luncheon menu can be found, here.
