October’s Membership Mixer on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. will be an Education Panel held at Success College Prep (2011 Bienville Street). Our panel will discuss the successes and challenges of education reform in New Orleans to date, as well as the opportunities for young professionals to be a part of the progress. Panelists will include: Katherine Hutton (community organizer and charter school parent), Niloy Gangopadhyay (Co-Principal/Co-Founder, Success Preparatory Academy), Kenneth Polite (Board Chair, New Orleans College Prep), and Leslie Jacobs (education reform advocate). After the panel discussion there will be a brief question and answer session.
This event will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Top Shelf an education board training and matching initiative.
