Cheryl Teamer

Cheryl R. Teamer is the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) where she advocates on behalf of the tourism and hospitality industry, which generates more than $7 billion annually in visitor spending.

Before joining the CVB, Cheryl served as President of Teamer Strategy Group, Regional Vice President of Government Relations at Harrah’s Entertainment and as an attorney at Adams & Reese LLP.  

She is the former Chief Intergovernmental Relations Officer for the City of New Orleans and a past attorney for the Louisiana House of Representatives, Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs. She has lectured extensively on lobbying techniques and legislative strategy as an adjunct professor at the College of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of New Orleans.

Cheryl is a civic and charitable advocate, dedicated to public service. She is the first woman to chair the governing board of the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. She currently serves as the chairman of trustees of the Greater New Orleans Foundation and immediate past chairman of the Young Audiences Charter School.

Her commitment to the community runs deep. She has served on multiple boards including Young Audiences of Louisiana, Second Harvest Food Bank, Chamber of Commerce for New Orleans and the River Region, Audubon Institute, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation, Congressional Black Caucus Corporate Advisory Board, Ursuline Academy Alumnae Association, Louisiana Mental Health Association, Louisiana Make-A-Wish Foundation, Southern Eye Bank and the First Grace Community Alliance.
