The Spirit to Serve
Jodi Jacobs Aamodt is a partner with the law firm of Jacobs Manuel Kain and Aamodt and a former law clerk to the Honorable Robin M. Giarrusso. She is a graduate of Isidore Newman School, Vanderbilt University, and Tulane University Law School.
Jodi’s love for community service started with the Young Leadership Council and her involvement with YLC’s youth engagement program Recreate New Orleans, which she chaired for several years. Jodi continued to serve YLC as Vice President of Projects and later as Board President.
Currently, she serves on the board of the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) New Orleans Charter School and is a previous board chair. She has served on many boards in the New Orleans area including Temple Sinai, Dress for Success (past board chair), Youth Empowerment Project, New Schools for New Orleans, the Anti Defamation League, Summerbridge New Orleans and Jewish Family Services.
Professionally, Jodi has served on the LAJ Board of Governors and is a past LAJ Maritime Section Chair. She has served as a Hearing Committee member for the Louisiana State Disciplinary Board and is a former Ad Hoc Orleans Parish Traffic Court Judge. She is a graduate of the New Orleans Leadership Regional Institute (NORLI) and the Lemann-Stern Jewish Leadership Program.
She was honored to receive the “Beyond Z” award from the KIPP Foundation for service above and beyond for benefit of children at a national KIPP school summit and was a YWCA Role Model. She was also recognized by New Orleans Magazine as a “35 and under” professional making an impact on our community.
Jodi is married to Peter Aamodt, Senior Development Manager with MCC Real Estate, and has two children, Marley (14) and Benjamin (12).
