The Community Patron
Margaret Saer Beer is the Director of Community Relations, for IBERIABANK’s New Orleans Market, drawing on her passions for community involvement and the city of New Orleans. Her previous professional experience includes working as the marketing director for LaPorte Sehrt Romig and Hand accounting firm, and three years spent in Silicon Valley with Tandem Computers in investor relations.
After Hurricane Katrina, Mrs. Beer served the City of New Orleans as the communications liaison to the Bring New Orleans Back Commission. She is a member of Women of the Storm, and traveled to Washington, D.C., to lobby for Louisiana’s recovery funding, and is a member of Citizens for One New Orleans.
Margaret is active in numerous civic organizations and gives her time tirelessly to benefit local nonprofits. She continues to serve on the executive board for Idea Village to increase entrepreneurial activity in the city. She is a task force member of The Edible Schoolyard, past president of Market Umbrella, Board Member Emeritus for the College Foundation Board of the University of Virginia, Development Committee member for the Tulane Catholic Center, and served on the Jefferson Scholars Selection Committee for 10 years.
Margaret holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Mrs. Beer’s dedication to the betterment of our community spans her lifetime and she continues her commitment to the community at IBERIABANK.
Margaret and her husband, Ken have two daughters, Megan Eustis, who lives in New Orleans and Kingsley Beer, who lives in San Francisco.
