Sal Scaccia, Pharm.D. is the Senior Vice President, West Operations, of Kroger Specialty Pharmacy (formerly TLC Rx).
In 2008, Mr. Scaccia opened TLC Rx, the first specialty pharmacy in Louisiana with the aim of combining the care of old-time apothecaries with the marvels of modern medicine. His goal was to bring progressive medicine to the people of Louisiana by helping patients with complicated treatments who other pharmacies wouldn’t serve. Beginning with only one employee in 2008, TLC Rx grew to more than 250 employees that served thousands of patients in 37 states by 2016. That year, the company joined forces with Kroger Co. to become Kroger Specialty Pharmacy.
Mr. Scaccia, a native of the New Orleans area, received his Pharm.D. as a pharmacist from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002.
He is highly active with community and professional organizations in New Orleans. Mr. Scaccia is currently on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, and has also served as president of the Greater New Orleans Pharmacy Association for 10 years. In November 2010, Sal was honored by Gambit Magazine of New Orleans as one of the top 40 people under the age of 40 for his accomplishments and contributions that he has made to New Orleans in the area of business.
