Salvador A. Scaccia, Pharm.D. is the Senior Vice President, West Operations, of Kroger Specialty Pharmacy. He is the former CEO and founder of TLC Rx.
In 2008, Sal opened TLC Rx, the first specialty pharmacy in Louisiana with the goal of combining the care of old-time apothecaries with the marvels of modern medicine. His goal was to bring progressive medicine to the people of Louisiana by helping patients with complicated treatments who other pharmacies refused to serve. Beginning with only one employee at a single location in 2008, TLC Rx grew to employ more than 250 employees serving thousands of patients across 37 states by 2016. That year, the company joined forces with Kroger Co. to become Kroger Specialty Pharmacy, which now brings quality healthcare to thousands of people in need across the country.
Sal, a native of the New Orleans area, received his Pharm.D. as a pharmacist from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002.
Sal plays a highly active role in community and professional organizations in New Orleans. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, and has served as President of the Greater New Orleans Pharmacy Association for ten years. In 2010, Sal was honored as a member of Gambit Magazine’s “40 Under 40” class, in recognition of his business contributions and community service to the Greater New Orleans region.
