For 25 years, the YLC has been an organization with a purpose – to get things done in and around New Orleans that improve the quality of life here. Along the way we develop emerging civic leaders with a hands-on community service, “learn by doing” approach. So, now we have a new way to tell you all about what we are doing. We’re blogging!
In this new blogspot, we hope to provide a platform for our members to share their stories of leadership and learning. It’s in these stories where the true mission of the YLC will shine through. You’ll hear about board members working tirelessly to support the Mayor’s anti-violence campaign. You’ll hear about a 3-year effort to clean up the train trestle that runs over the I-10 at the Jefferson Parish/Orleans Parish line just in time for Super Bowl to come to town. You’ll hear about this Fall’s upcoming One Book One New Orleans campaign for adult literacy. And the best part….you’ll hear about all of this from the very people who are behind the efforts – young leaders sharing their time and talent in the spirit on ongoing learning and service to the city they love.
Sincerely,

Amy Collins, Executive Director
Congratulations to the YLC! The new website looks great and I can’t wait to see how this blog develops. It’s such a good idea I’m disappointed I didn’t think of it!
