College Admissions Project (CAP) seeks Guides/Mentors for 2016-2017 School Year

The College Admissions Project is one of YLC’s 15 volunteer-led community service projects, and is led by project leaders Mark Clayton and Christina Hendrick. The project, currently partnered with International High School of New Orleans, SciHigh, and Lake Area New Tech Early College High School, aims to increase the local college admissions rate by pairing high school juniors and seniors with a YLC volunteer to help navigate the college admissions process. Many of the students involved in C.A.P. will be the first in their family to earn a college degree.

CAP Guides are the heart of the College Admissions Project! Following a training session and completion of a background check, each Guide is matched to a high school senior whom the Guide will assist in all aspects of applying for college and financial aid.
