We are thrilled welcome the legendary Deacon John Moore as musical guest for the 32nd Annual YLC Role Model Awards Gala! A staple of New Orleans’ musical scene for generations. Deacon John is famous for his irresistible voice, funky grooves, and magnetic personality. Throughout a a career spanning more than 50 years, the Deacon has performed every style imaginable, including jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock ‘n roll, blues, and gospel — on stages across the country. He has played at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for every year since its inception and has received countless awards and honors that demonstrate his vital role as an ambassador for New Orleans’ music and culture. Clarence Johnson III, saxophone

Known for his sultry sound and astounding virtuosity, New Orleanean Clarence Johnson III enjoys a successful career as a recording and performing artist and educator. Appearing regularly on festival stages in New Orleans and across the country, Clarence is a staple of New Orleans’ music scene. He is currently celebrating the national release of his latest recording, “Watch Him Work”, a fresh take on jazz fusion reminiscent of the compositional styles of Stanley Clarke, George Duke, the Brecker Bros., and the Yellow Jackets.
