LTC (R) Danny Blanks

Annually since 1986, YLC has selected a class of outstanding New Orleanians who serve as Role Models by actively contributing to the betterment of the Greater New Orleans region. These individuals are an inspiration to YLC’s young professional members and to the community at large.

LTC Danny Blanks was commissioned into the US Army in May 1990 after graduating from Southern University.  While serving in Iraq, Danny served as Operation Officer for large reconstruction projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Upon returning to Louisiana, Danny served as the Operation Officer/S-3 in the Corp’s Recovery Field Office for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He later served in the Hurricane Protection Office before retiring after 28-years of military service.

 In 2017, Danny co-founded Pontchartrain Partners LLC where he serves as CEO. He brought his extensive expertise working on military and civil works projects as a platoon leader, company commander, construction manager, and project manager. A certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, the firm is a fully insured and bonded self-performing contractor, leveraging the principals’ more than 50 years of combined experience in heavy civil construction, roadways and bridges, mechanical, marine, and coastal restoration. Inc. 500 recognized Pontchartrain Partners as one of the Top 10 fastest-growing companies in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
