As Senior Corporate Relations Advisor for Shell’s Deep Water Gulf of Mexico business, Ron Stone leads integrated reputation and communications strategy. Ron taps into the storytelling strengths he first developed as a reporter to share business achievements in a very human and engaging way.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in American History, Ron earned a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career as a researcher, writer, and producer for KPRC-TV in Houston before moving on to a role at the station as an award-winning general assignment reporter. From television news, Ron went on to corporate communications with a Houston-based firm before joining Shell in 2011.
Over a decade and more, Ron has worked with a variety of business units across Shell’s global operations, developing and implementing communications strategies that drive external and internal engagement and enhance business performance. Born and raised in Texas, Ron had the wonderful opportunity to move to New Orleans in 2018. The history, the culture, and above all, the people of New Orleans speak to his heart.
Serving on the Chairman’s Council of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce; giving out backpacks to students at the Back 2 School Fest; volunteering at the UNCF Walk for Education—these are just some of the ways that Ron gives back to the community.
Ron is a history buff, an avid book collector, and a very proud father of two children, Madeline, and Caroline.
