Once a licensed tour guide and avid student of New Orleans history, Karin has realized that this city’s potential is far more interesting than its past and wants to dedicate her professional life to building a better New Orleans. As a native, she knows how vital community involvement and strong leadership is to this mission. She brings ten years of experience in communications, marketing, operations, and event production to the role of Director of Operations for YLC.
Karin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans. And since this is New Orleans: she graduated from Ben Franklin High School with honors in 2007.
Career highlights include: creating a greener New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina as an Americorps VISTA with Global Green New Orleans, being a part of the management team that re-opened the historic Saenger Theatre in 2013, celebrating Louisiana musicians and our historic French Quarter as development assistant to the French Quarter Festival and promoting cultural appreciation and responsible recreation on Bayou St. John as sponsorship and marketing coordinator for the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo Festival.
As Operations Manager of YLC, Karin executes the daily operational tasks required to keep this historic organization running, including managing relationships and scopes of work with contractors and the many amazing volunteers who make the magic happen at the YLC. She is excited to support other young professionals who want to leave their mark on New Orleans.
