How it works
The Leadership Development Series (LDS) is a 10-week virtual series that engages young leaders with an interest in nonprofit management and development. The series will begin with presentations of city leaders to fully understand the economic and civil engagement landscape of our city. From there, they will be asked to deep dive into creating a one-time event to overcome specific challenges in our city. Although virtual, LDS offers a hands-on approach, allowing participants the unique opportunity to work in small groups to create a project aimed to address a currently unmet need in the city of New Orleans.
Each week, participants receive specific direction and guidance from community leaders on a vital topic of non-profit and civic engagement. Speaker topics will range from pivoting a business strategy in response to a crisis to effective fundraising strategies. Throughout the series, class members are challenged to apply what they learn to the event they are creating to ensure sustainability and growth within the city of New Orleans.

How Do I Apply?
Entry to the class is competitive with approximately 20 students accepted each year. Class members are selected through an application process. If selected to participate, class members must pay a tuition fee of $135 which covers all program costs and materials.
